Why is employer brand so important?

Employer brand is so, so, so important. Get your ducks in a row at the start of a recruitment process and ensure the candidate experience is as you would want to be treated if you were that person.

  1. Consider the timing between the various stages. No one wants to be waiting 4 weeks between interview stages.
  2. Try not to reschedule interviews last minute. Sometimes rearranging cannot be helped, however, try not to treat interview like they’re internal meetings.
  3. Make sure interviewers are completely prepared.
  4. Even if jobseeker isn’t for you, give them honest feedback. Being ghosted by companies post-interview is not kind or helpful.
  5. Don’t mis-sell the role. It doesn’t help both client or candidate if the person only realises during their first few weeks that your job isn’t as it was advertised.

The market is as fierce as ever and jobseekers have levels of expectation now that we haven’t seen before. If you aren’t putting sufficient effort in then you’ll lose out and your business will stutter as a result.
